I have been playing music since he was in the 3rd grade.  My  first musical experience was with my recorder, learning the songs from jurassic park.  I found the drums when I was in 5th grade and switched to guitar in 6th grade when I met Pete.  We began to jam frequently, playing covers of Metallica and classic rock tunes with our good friend Dave Wholey.  In 8th grade I met Jeff Buckridge who was and still is a strong influence on my playing.  It was around this time that I discovered jazz.  I started listening to players like John Coltrane and Miles Davis and funk bands like The John Scofield Band and Parliament Funkadelic.  Over the years, my musical tastes have changed as well as my style, but Grimis allows me the freedom to express myself in the most honest way I know how: through music.  Aside from playing guitar,  I enjoy listening to music, taking walks in the woods, going to shows, drawing, and playing basketball.

My main guitar is a 1991 Gibson ES-165 Herb Ellis strung with D'Addario flatwounds, gague 12.  I use a Fender Twin Reverb amp.  I have never been a huge fan of effects, but recently I have been plugging into an MXR phase pedal and an Ibanez Echo/ Delay pedal.  I like to use Jim Dunlop 2.0 mm picks.

Albums I have been listening to recently include:
Owls Owls
Mason Jennings Mason Jennings
The Flaming Lips Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
At the Drive In In Casino Out
Piebald Vinetian Blinds
Miles Davis Kind of Blue
The Bech Boys Endless Summer
