THE BAND | THE SOUNDS | THE SIGHTS | THE SHOWS | THE FANS

Christian DeLisio's dad let me borrow his acoustic guitar after a soccer game when I was ten and I spent hours playing Beatles songs from a neighbor's song book.  I started playing saxophone in fourth grade.  In middle school I played in the concert band and also started playing with Andy, Lyle, Pete and others.  A few highlights of playing music for me have been jazz combo freshman year and playing in the Sierra Juice Company.  A few of my favorite "Grimis" memories are spending the weekend in VT playing at the wedding, the north oxford show, essex II (my grandpa came), Wyoming, and playing with the Aaron Thurston Trio. I feel incredibly lucky to be creating music with three of my closest friends.  I feel like Grimis' music, if nothing else, is honest in that it is constantly evolving, shifting directions and ideas.  The band is about taking chances and creating and that is meaningful to me.  One of the greatest concerts I have ever seen was Sonny Rollins at the Litchfield Jazz Festival. My favorite record of all time is probably Abbey Road and the music and musicians that have influenced me include George Winston, the Anthony Wilson Trio, Nada Surf, the Allman Brothers Band, John Gorka, Tricolor, Paul Desmond, Jon Damian, and BeCk!...
